2 Foil Materials

This foil material is a reinforced structure with excellent properties for dog food packages. The foil structure is PET/AL/NY/LDPE, with a graphic as below.

Let’s first get a further understanding of each substrate layer material.

PET, short for Polyethylene Terephthalate, is a widely used food grade plastic material commonly applied in food, beverage, and packaging industries. It is known for its stable performance, high safety, and consistent quality, making it suitable for direct contact with food and beverages while meeting international standards.

PET offers excellent transparency and surface gloss, allowing products to be clearly displayed and improving shelf appeal. It also provides strong durability and impact resistance, ensuring reliable performance during handling and transportation. In addition, PET has good barrier properties against moisture and oxygen, helping maintain product freshness. As a fully recyclable material with a well established recycling system, PET supports sustainable and environmentally responsible packaging solutions.

Al，short for Aluminum, is a widely used packaging material known for its excellent protective performance and stability. It is commonly applied in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and industrial packaging, especially where high barrier protection and product preservation are required.

AL provides outstanding barrier properties against light, oxygen, moisture, and odors, effectively preserving product freshness and extending shelf life. It offers good strength while remaining lightweight, making it suitable for both transportation and storage. Aluminum is also corrosion resistant, safe for food contact when properly coated, and fully recyclable without loss of quality, supporting environmentally responsible and sustainable packaging solutions.

NY, also known as Nylon or Polyamide, is a high performance plastic material commonly used in flexible packaging, especially for products that require strength, durability, and puncture resistance. It is widely applied in food packaging, vacuum packaging, and frozen product packaging due to its excellent mechanical properties and stability.

NY offers outstanding toughness and puncture resistance, helping protect products from damage during handling and transportation. It has good oxygen barrier performance, which helps maintain product freshness and extend shelf life. NY also performs well under low temperature conditions and maintains stability during freezing. In addition, it provides good heat resistance and is often used as a functional layer in multi layer packaging structures to enhance overall package strength and reliability.

LDPE, short for Low Density Polyethylene, is a flexible plastic material widely used in packaging applications such as bags, liners, and inner layers. It is valued for its softness, flexibility, and stable performance, making it suitable for a wide range of packaging needs, including food contact applications.

LDPE offers excellent flexibility and sealing performance, allowing it to conform easily to product shapes while providing reliable protection. It has good moisture resistance, helping prevent water vapor penetration and maintain product quality. LDPE is lightweight, durable, and resistant to impact and tearing. In addition, it is recyclable and commonly used in multi layer packaging structures, supporting practical and efficient packaging solutions.

3 Properties and Quality Assurance

3.1 Exquisite print quality

In our manufacturing plant, we place great emphasis on achieving high color fidelity and maintaining consistency across repeated print orders. The following is a brief introduction to our approach and practices.

a.  Color Analyzer

The color analyzer is one of the key auxiliary tools in our system, designed to achieve the highest standards of color fidelity. The eXact Advanced goes beyond simply validating CMYK and spot color inks. It is capable of simultaneously measuring four M modes to visualize the spectral reflectance of substrates or inks, assess the concentration of specific inks, and evaluate color differences on both white and black backgrounds.

b. Pantone Color Code

When working with spring service suppliers and customers, color accuracy is especially important given the large areas printed in a single Pantone shade. For many Pantone colors, the final appearance can be influenced by factors such as the printer, the paper substrate, and even environmental conditions during printing. To ensure consistency, we confirm the exact Pantone Color Code with customers during the artwork design stage, prior to moving the order into production.

c. Physical Printed On Photo Paper

Computer files such as JPG, PDF, PSD, AI, etc can not be taken as the guide to determine the color in print produce, as they present the colors through electronic screening devices. Different electronic screens may be set in different parameters by the various manufacturers, which will inevitably interfere with the color presentation. Artwork can only be a reliable guide when printed on a physical substrate, with the most common photo paper applied.

3.2 Excellent Matte Finish Effect

The matte finish surface delivers a refined and modern visual experience, giving the packaging a high end and professional appearance. 3.7 Great Mechanical Strength

This reinforced laminated foil can greatly protect pet food packages ranging from 100g to 5lb volume.

3.8 Smooth Zipper

The Tab Zipper, also referred to as a Rip Zipper, is designed to allow pet food pouches to be opened easily. The pouch can be opened by pulling the tab, creating a clean and controlled tear without the need for scissors, while keeping the package structure intact.The Tab Zipper is integrated directly into the bag during production and does not affect the overall appearance of the pouch. It supports consistent opening performance and helps maintain package strength and product freshness during normal use.

4 Quality Control Measures

Our manufacturing plant implements rigorous quality control measures to ensure that every order meets the specific requirements of each customer. With over ten years of experience in the industry, we have developed a comprehensive QC manual that standardizes our processes, ensuring that each product is produced according to precise and consistent procedures

4.1 Manufacturing Traceback

We apply a strict recording system to document the manufacturing details, such as environmental conditions, craftsmanship parameters, production facility conditions, etc, which allows us to trace back whenever there is a problem.

4.2 QC Test Report Against Each Order

There will be a QC test report issued against each order produced, with the core items evaluated in it.  It is highly appreciated by our customers.

4.3 Print Inspection

In our manufacturing plant, the print inspection is always taken and done in a serious way, as we will never allow the customer artwork to be achieved in a way that deteriorate their business. On our gravure print press, there is in-line inspection system which can eliminate more than 98% of the defects in the printing process.

There is also a supplementary off-line inspection equipment, to allow us to do the print inspection again whenever it seems necessary.

We are now producing dog food pouch. against customer artwork, and we surely love to support the startup and market-testing period for our customers. We will accept a minimum order quantity of 10,000 bags printed against customer artwork design.

4.4 Airtight Property Test

The finished coffee bag should be completely airtight, to get the products well-protected from oxygen and moisture in the environment. We perform the airtight property test against each order with the device as below.

In actual operation, we will pick up 1 bag every 1,000 pcs, and perform the test following the procedure in our QC manual.

4.5 Gas Release Property Test

The gas will be released from the inside when the air pressure for the inside is 2~7 mbar than the outside environment. Usually, we will immerse the valve welded bag under the water, and check if the degassing valve works well.

4.6 Drop Test

Drop testing is widely regarded as a highly reliable method to assess whether coffee bags possess sufficient strength to withstand various conditions. This test simulates real-life scenarios, such as when products accidentally fall from store shelves, subjecting the finished bags to sudden and significant impact. In our routine quality control process, we perform drop tests on every order to ensure product durability. Of course, the specific standards for these tests are determined based on the individual requirements of each customer.

After 5 drops for each bag, none of them breaks,  all are fine and dandy.

4.7 Hard Sudden Strikes on inflated coffee bags

Hard sudden strikes should be taken as a more fierce test method than drop test, as it causes much higher force on inflated packages.

4.8 Anti-Pressure Test

Pressure-resistance testing is an essential method for evaluating whether a package can provide reliable protection for its contents, particularly for liquid products such as household detergents or windshield washer fluids. For coffee packaging, we routinely conduct anti-pressure tests as part of our daily quality control processes, ensuring that every order meets high standards of mechanical strength and durability.

When a coffee bag leaks or breaks, it’s not just a minor mishap,it can create serious problems for distributors, manufacturers, and ultimately, the customers. Avoiding such incidents is critical to maintaining trust and smooth operations.

Sometimes, for easier and fast operation, we may just get one person to stand on the well-sealed and inflated coffee bag, to check if there is any burst of them.

 

4.9 Easy Rip Tear Zipper Test

The zipper on the packaging must be easy for consumers to open by hand. If it is difficult to rip, it may negatively affect the overall product experience. Ensuring ease of use not only enhances customer satisfaction but also encourages repeat purchases, as consumers are more likely to return to products that are convenient and user-friendly.

4.8 Laboratory Tests

Laboratory testing plays a crucial role in revealing the intrinsic properties of foil materials that cannot be seen by the naked eye. These scientific analyses provide valuable insights into our bag production, allowing us to deeply understand material performance and make data-driven improvements.

4.9 Third-party Inspection

Third-party inspection is available for all our orders on agreed standards or regulations.

5 Human Food Safety

All film materials, inks, adhesives, and solvents used in the production of food bags and packaging materials fully comply with human food safety regulations. Migration tests were conducted on these multilayer flexible pouches, which are in direct contact with food, and the results are illustrated in the graphic below, showing the mass spectra obtained. These data demonstrate the safety and suitability of the packaging materials for food applications.

9.1 Compostable film material packages

Here, we are going to introduce the main performance of these compostable materials pouches.

a. Compostable

All the film materials we adapt are certificated compostable, under home or industrial conditions, complying with the standards EN 13432 or ASTM 6400.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The films will present different biodegradation behaviors under different conditions, such as industrial composting facilities, home and garden conditions, and nature soil conditions.

In most cases, industrial composting will be able to achieve a faster biodegradation of the compostable film materials than other composting progress, as it is able to provide better conditions.

Some manufacturers would like to have a better biodegradation behaviors of their own compostable packages under nature soil conditions, as in most cases, the abandoned package may not be recycled into human composting facilities.

b. High-barrier performance pouches

Through vacuum metallization, PVDC coating, and AlOx/SiOx depositing, the compostable films can be achieved with better barrier performance, such as water vapor transmission rate (short as WVTR) and Oxygen Transmission Rate (short as OTR). Later on, we will combine several layers of the barrier film and convert into laminate foil, with an improved barrier property for finished packages.odles, or soup products

c. Alkaline Resistant

We put a certain amount of bleaching powder into the compostable pouches with various foil structures, and place them in an environment of 40~45 Celsius degree, to accelerate the aging process of the compostable pouches.

The test result proves the compostable pouches will be fine for packing alkaline products, like household detergent powder, and hand wash cubes.

However, it is not ok for household liquid detergent and other liquid cleaning chemicals.

d. Frozen Treatment

Our compostable doypack is designed to withstand microwave heating, making it ideal for applications such as melting candle wax and other heat-treatment uses.

Please note:
For microwave safety, the pouch must be made without any metalized film layer to ensure proper performance and avoid potential hazards.

This innovative solution combines eco-friendly materials with practical functionality, offering both sustainability and convenience for modern consumers.

d. Vacuum Packages

The compostable pouches can be intended for the vacuum packages for products, like milk powder, nutrition products, etc.

f. Hot Filling up to 100 Celsius Degree

The compostable pouch will be fine for the hot filling process, which may work well for juice products.
